RARE SIGHTING

Blue Whale

Balaenoptera musculus

At up to 100 feet and 200 tons, blue whales dwarf every animal on Earth. The Santa Barbara Channel draws one of the highest summer concentrations on the planet as blues lunge-feed on dense krill aggregations — watch for a flat, oily "fluke print" before the animal sounds.
